Memorial Day 2024 | VFW Post 9907

SHOW LOW- VFW Post 9907 paid respects to all soldiers that gave the ultimate sacrifice for the freedom of Americans.  They offered solemn tribute to all comrades wherever they may rest.

Every year on Memorial Day, Americans come together to recognize and pay their respects to ALL veterans of ALL wars who fought and made the ‘ultimate sacrifice’ of dying in the performance of their duties to defend the United States of America against all enemies both foreign and domestic and uphold our liberties according to our Constitution.

Chairs were lined up in rows at the Show Low Cemetery to accommodate the residents, veterans and families of the deceased veterans attending this year’s memorial.

The ceremony began at 10 a.m. with the Parade of Colors conducted by the Honor Guard of Veterans of Foreign War Post 9907 of Show Low. Everyone stood to sing the National Anthem, followed by the Pledge of Allegiance. Veterans in attendance rendered a hand salute. An Invocation was delivered before the ceremony continued.

Mr. Jeff Timm was the keynote speaker who attended on behalf of Congressman Eli Crane. He began his speech with a brief autobiography. Reading from the notes as written by the Congressman, Timm delivered the importance of veterans’ benefits and issues, followed by the bills that were passed in the Legislature. The speech concluded by offering any veteran needing assistance to contact his office.

Each officer of VFW Post 9907 and the Auxiliary placed an item on the grave commemorating deceased veterans.

TAPS was played to conclude the Memorial.
