White Mountain Symphony Orchestra (WMSO) will perform starting at 3 p.m. on Dec. 9, and the concert will be at Snowflake High School auditorium at 190 South 2nd West St, Snowflake. After the concert, WMSO will serve a chili and cornbread dinner for $5 a bowl at the high school cafeteria.

“We did the chili and cornbread dinner a couple of years ago, and at the request of some of the musicians and our patrons, we brought it back. It’s a nice way to mingle in a warm setting after the concert, so everyone goes home well satisfied with music and food,” said WMSO musician and business manager Anna McCleve.
The WMSO members will make the chili and it will be kept warm in crockpots.
The symphony will perform Babes in Toyland, March of the Toys, Sleigh Ride, Jingle Bells Forever, and a Christmas carol sing along with the words included in the program. There will also be three small ensembles within the concert: a string ensemble, a brass quintet, and a woodwind quintet.
“We have a fun variation of Jingle bells in the march style of John Phillip Sousa and some warm melodies in A Vaughan Williams Christmas that are very enjoyable to play and hear,” said McCleve.
The community goes to WMSO concerts to hear the talented musicians. However, the famous raffle is something you won’t want to miss, and you could win one of the many prizes, including $50 in cash.
WMSO voted in a new director, Nickolas Pulsipher, and he is sure to conduct an outstanding Christmas concert.
