A 68-year-old Show Low man was ultimately flown to a Phoenix hospital for life-threatening injuries after it discovered the plane he was flying had crashed.
The Show Low man was piloting a Remos Model: GX LIGHT SPORT AIRCRAFT.
Prior to the arrival of emergency services, a pilot of another plane that was flying over the airport just moments before, also called emergency services as he saw a plane on the ground that had crashed. The pilot was transported to Summit Healthcare Hospital in Show Low by the Taylor-Snowflake Fire and EMS, and he was later flown to a Phoenix hospital for life-threatening injuries.
The initial information is that It appears the plane crashed while taking off. However, the cause of the crash is still under investigation. The incident was initially investigated by the Snowflake-Taylor Police Department and subsequently turned over to the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) and Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). Â
