NAVAJO COUNTY- Drugs are a serious problem in Arizona. I-40 runs through Navajo County, and the Sheriff’s Office rely on their specialized K-9s to sniff out drugs coming into Northern Arizona.
Navajo County Sheriffs Office K-9s are an essential tool in the fight against drugs and crime.
NCSO K-9 Kilo:
K-9 Kilo made his first bust with NCSO on January 18, 2022, K-9 Kilo was deployed to perform a free air sniff on a vehicle. Nearly 5 pounds of heroin, 12 pounds of suspected fentanyl powder, and over 57,000 fentanyl pills were seized.
K-9 Kilo 2023 Stats:
- 1 Criminal Apprehension with bite
- 2 Criminal Apprehensions with no bite
- 13.4 lbs. of Cocaine
- 24.5 grams of Fentanyl powder
- 368,650 Fentanyl pills

NCSO K-9 Zolton:
In October of 2017 when K-9 Zolton was two years old and new to NCSO, he sniffed out 31 pounds of crystal meth (in one pound packages) that NCSO detectives suspect was destined for sale in Texas.
