Chase Bank suitcase suspect identified

SHOW LOW- Jimmy Schrage, 61 yrs old, of Clay Springs, left a suitcase outside of Chase Bank on Show Low because ‘spirits’ told him to put the suitcase on the front steps. He was booked on charges.

On July 17 Chase Bank employees observed and reported the suspicious package.

The suspect dropped off a suitcase at the front door of the bank and drove away.

The suspect was identified as Jimmy Schrage, 61 yrs old, of Clay Springs, as the person that left the suitcase on the steps of Chase Bank.

Officers secured the area, identified, and located the suspect.

The incident brought on the DPS EOD Bomb team and they deployed their assets to check if the suitcase had explosives’.

The DPS EOD team deployed a remote dog named “SPOT” to inspect the briefcase.

Spot MOUNTAIN DAILY STAR
Spot is a quadruped (four-legged) robot capable of mobility on a variety of terrains. Spot uses multiple sensors and three motors in each leg to navigate indoor and outdoor environments, maintain balance, and attain postures.

The suspect made statements of the “spirits” told him to put the suitcase on the front steps.

The suitcase was safely removed by the DPS EOD team and found to be inert.

Schrage was booked on the charges.13-1202/Threatening and Intimidating .13-2904/Disorderly Conduct
