SHOW LOW-According to the Show Low Police Department, a 76-year-old Eagar woman accidentally hit the accelerator instead of the brake, colliding with a U.S. Postal vehicle on the Deuce of Clubs. She was cited for failing to stop at a red light.
At approximately 1:49 PM on October 18, 2025, officers responded to a two-vehicle collision at the intersection of the Deuce of Clubs and Central Avenue. The crash involved a U.S. Postal Service vehicle traveling eastbound on the Deuce of Clubs and a 76-year-old female driver from Eagar, Arizona.
According to the investigation, the female driver was stopped at a red light on Central Avenue and intended to turn right onto the Deuce of Clubs. She later informed officers that she believed she was pressing the brake pedal while waiting for the signal to change, but that she had inadvertently had her foot on the accelerator. As a result, her vehicle entered the intersection and collided broadside with the postal vehicle as it passed through.
Both vehicles sustained damage and were towed from the scene. The female driver was cited for failure to stop at a red light in violation of Arizona traffic law. No serious injuries were reported.
