Stabbing in Joseph City

NAVAJO COUNTY, AZ: Two men got into an altercation that resulted in both needing medical attention from a knife fight.

On August 9, 2024, at approximately 7:50 PM, the Navajo County Sheriff’s Office responded to the 8100 block of Bushman Avenue in Joseph City for a report of a physical altercation involving a weapon.

Moncesco Hedman Nez (26) of Pinon, was arrested and booked into the Navajo County Jail.

The reporting party advised that Nez was in possession of a knife and was fighting with a 30-year-old male from Pinon. Deputies arrived on scene and conducted an investigation, the investigation revealed Nez stabbed the victim during the physical altercation. Both Nez and the victim were transported to a local hospital for medical attention.

Once Nez was cleared by medical staff, he was booked into NCSO Jail for aggravated assault and a valid and confirmed arrest warrant.
