Holbrook, AZ- On the evening of June 17, 2025, at approximately 7:24 p.m., the Navajo County Sheriff’s Office received a 911 call reporting a shooting in the 4600 block of Hay Hollow Road outside of Snowflake.

Deputies, detectives, local law enforcement, and emergency medical services responded to the area and secured the scene. A 66-year-old female victim was located with gunshot wounds. She was transported by air to a medical facility for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.

“We would like to thank the Snowflake-Taylor Police Department for their assistance with the initial call last night. At this time, the suspect remains outstanding, and the investigation is ongoing. Detectives are actively following leads. We currently have Navajo County Sheriff’s Office detectives, Show Low Police Department detectives, Arizona Department of Public Safety detectives, and members from the Navajo County Attorney’s Office actively investigating,” wrote the Navajo County Sheriff’s Office in a press release

“We want to assure the community that this incident is not connected to the recent fatal shooting in Taylor,” the press release continued.

“While we understand the community is shaken and eager for answers, we are limited in what information can be released at this stage. We ask the public to avoid spreading unverified information on social media, as it can hinder the investigation and create unnecessary fear.”
