Show Low Burger King, Demolished | We Have the Answers.

Many locals and visitors have turned the tight corner at the old Show Low Burger King drive-thru thinking, “I’m never going to make it.” That’s a thing of the past. And for those who experienced the drive-through debacle, it’s now a historical mention.

Kevin Kempton, the superintendent of A.T. Meridian Construction, said, “The old building needed to be brought up to standards, and it wasn’t in compliance.”

The old Burger King building has been leveled, and the area is being cleaned up, and the ground concrete is hammered out for a new and improved building to be constructed.

Burger King’s plans have evolved since the old Show Low building was constructed in the 80’s, and they have a new site design; their newest and latest design is called the “Sizzle.”

Tom Curtis, president of Burger King US & Canada, said, “They have been working to revitalize its brand over the past few years, redesigning everything from its logo to its packaging. The next step is remodeling restaurants and having a new look in 2024.”

The new Burger King will have a double drive-thru, expanded parking, a play area, state of the art dining area, and an upgraded and improved exterior look, giving the building a more appealing look from the road, said Kempton.

The old Show Low Burger King building has been an iconic fast stop for many visitors and locals to grab a quick bite to eat and conversation with a friend.

“When I went to Show Low High School, I remember going to Burger King for lunch and bringing a couple of hamburgers for football practice,” said a resident. “I’m kind of sad to see the old building gone.”

“I know the town of Show Low has happy memories of the old Burger King, but it needed to be reconstructed,” said Kempton.

With any luck, the new Burger King building will be ready to serve the area in April or May of 2024. If your craving a whopper, head to Pinetop or Taylor.
