The FBI is offering a reward of up to $25,000 for the arrest and conviction of those responsible for the death of Maleeka "Mollie" Boone.

The FBI Phoenix Field Office, working with the Navajo Nation Police Department, is offering a reward of up to $25,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of those responsible for the death of 8-year-old Maleeka “Mollie” Boone.

Maleeka Boone, also known as Mollie, is a Navajo Nation Tribal Member and was reported missing earlier this month in the Coalmine area of the Navajo Nation.

Following an extensive search involving multiple agencies, the Diné child was found dead.

According to the FBI, Boone left one family member’s home at approximately 4:15 p.m. to return to the home in which she lived.  Both residences are in the same neighborhood and in close proximity to each other.  Boone’s body was located in a field within the Coalmine neighborhood at approximately 8:30 a.m. on January 16, 2026.

As of now, no arrests have been made in connection with Boone’s death, said Kevin W. Smith, with the FBI Phoenix Field Office.

The FBI and the Navajo Nation Police Department continue to ask the public to share the reward notice in hopes of generating new leads in the case.

Someone knows something; don’t let this child’s death go unsolved. How many more Native children need to die before it’s stopped? Make the call, be the one who stops the killing of our children.
