Show Low, AZ—Hundreds of residents around the White Mountains gathered Saturday on the Deuce of Clubs as part of a nationwide ‘day of action’ to protest President Trump and his policies.
Protests took place in all 50 states and around the world. According to the Navajo County Chair, Missa Foy, the demonstrations were organized to “unite against these attacks on our Constitution.”
Missa Foy, chair of the Navajo County Democrats, spoke at the “Hands Off!” protest in Show Low on Saturday, April 5. Foy said, “Over 240 people showed up to protest.”
The call for support resonated with adults and many teens, who felt that the current administration was affecting them, too.

Arizona Attorney General Kris Mayes has been taking steps against the Trump administration. She wrote on X that she believes, “we are currently facing a coup in our nation.”
She accused the administration of working to “destroy every single federal agency in this country” and terminate “maybe more than a million federal workers.”
“When Donald Trump decided that he wanted to strike out unilaterally against birthright citizenship, we sued him and we won,” Mayes said. “When they tried to fire 25,000 probationary federal workers, we sued them and we got them stopped.”
“Firing probationary employees without following the rules was wrong, and it hurt Arizonans,” said Mayes. “I will keep fighting to make sure the Trump administration follows the law and treats workers fairly.”
Attorney General Mayes and a coalition of 20 attorneys general secured a preliminary injunction (PI) in Maryland et al. v. USDA, a lawsuit filed in the United States District Court for Maryland, suing numerous federal agencies for the unlawful mass firing of federal probationary employees.

Opponents of President Donald Trump and Elon Musk rallied across the United States to protest various actions taken by the administration. Over two dozen protests were planned throughout Arizona, including in Phoenix, Flagstaff, Sedona, and Show Low.
