Police Officer involved shooting in Round Valley at the Round Valley Police Station, that occurred on Wednesday.

SPRINGERVILLE- In an updated statement released Wednesday afternoon, the Town of Springerville said the incident remains under investigation and confirmed that no injuries were reported among law enforcement or town personnel.

“At approximately 12:50 p.m. today, there was a law enforcement officer-involved shooting at the Round Valley Police Department in Springerville, Arizona,” said Interm Town Manager Ted Soltis. “It is under investigation. No law enforcement officers, town staff, or officials were injured.”

Earlier, town officials said there was no immediate threat to the public and announced that Springerville municipal offices, including Town Hall, would remain closed for the remainder of the day as a precaution. The initial release was issued by Interim Town Manager Ted Soltis.

Later Wednesday, Bart Graves, Media Relations Specialist with the Department of Public Safety, confirmed that the Apache County Sheriff’s Office is involved in the investigation.

The incident also prompted a temporary shelter-in-place at Round Valley Schools. District officials said all students and staff were accounted for and safe, and the shelter order was lifted once authorities determined the situation had been contained.
