Dollar General | Linden

LINDEN-You many have noticed a building going up off HWY 260 and Lone Pine Dam rd. We have the answers.

If your from Linden and have spent over a decade here, you may remember the old gas station off HWY 260 that was run by the Maxwell’s and then the Cluff’s. Its been vacant for many years. And don’t forget DeWitt’s truck and auto repair behind the gas station.

My children loved to go to the gas station after attending school at Linden Elementary, and Mr. DeWitt fixed our cars with the utmost care. He always gave us a great deal. Lyon DeWitt passed away in November 2021.

Time has passed, and now Linden residents will have a local store. It’s not locally run and owned, and the dollar wont go that far, but Linden residents will have a new store to grab some groceries.

Dollar General operates about 19,000 stores in the US, 2,700 of which focus on fresh groceries. The Linden site plans were observed and did show fresh produce and fresh meats.

The normal size of a Dollar General is 10,680 square feet. The Linden Dollar General store will be 12,480 square feet.

Mountain Daily Star requested a color sight plan and should receive them on Monday, we will update this story as it becomes available.

Linden would benefit from a store with fresh produce and the building contractor from Rupe Companies said ” Its the biggest store Dollar General has and we believe it will be a DG Market with fresh produce.”
