ST. JOHNS, Ariz. —Bo Tyler Hounshell was arrested October 29 in St. Johns on felony charges involving impersonating a peace officer and weapons misconduct. His arrest follows an August DUI arrest and an October 28 search of his residence by Arizona Department of Public Safety investigators.
Bo Tyler Hounshell was arrested Thursday, October 29, 2026, by the St. Johns Police Department on allegations of impersonating a peace officer, misconduct involving weapons, and threatening and intimidating.
According to jail booking records, Hounshell was arrested at approximately 10:20 a.m. at 400 S. 9th West in St. Johns. His bail was set at $100,000.
The booking record lists four counts involving three offenses:
- Two felony counts of impersonating a peace officer, under A.R.S. § 13-2411(A).
- One felony count of misconduct involving weapons, under A.R.S. § 13-3102(A)(4).
- One misdemeanor count of threatening and intimidating involving physical injury, under A.R.S. § 13-1202(A)(1).

Police reports allege that Hounshell used his position with Apache County and a county-owned white Ford F-150 that resembled an unmarked law enforcement vehicle to impersonate a sheriff’s deputy.
One allegation involves Hounshell reportedly visiting a woman’s residence, identifying himself as a sheriff and attempting to persuade her to reconcile with her former husband, who was reportedly a friend of Hounshell.
The latest arrest follows an earlier incident on August 28, 2026, when Hounshell was arrested following a traffic stop in St. Johns. He was accused of aggravated DUI, endangerment, and child abuse after allegedly driving a county vehicle with his 8-year-old son inside.
On Wednesday, October 28, Arizona Department of Public Safety investigators reportedly searched Hounshell’s residence. Investigators reportedly discovered paraphernalia during the search. The October 29 booking record does not list any charges relating to this.
Hounshell has been associated with the Apache County Office of Emergency Management. His current employment status has not been confirmed.
The Coconino County Attorney’s Office will reportedly handle the case.
Hounshell’s bail was set at $100,000. The charges are allegations, and he is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.
