SLHS put on lockdown. | Wednesday

SHOW LOW, Az- Local agencies raced to Show Low High School, ready to confront a threat head-on, but they soon discovered it was a prank.

Mountain Daily Star staff listened to the scanner during the lockdown and heard the professionalism and dedication of the task force.

Staff at Mountain Daily Star have children who attend Show Low High School. Our Editor said, “Please God, not today.”

Knowing the outstanding ability of our local law enforcement agencies gave us comfort.

The event was over quickly, and the lockdown was lifted.

Show Low Police Department wrote on Facebook, “We wish to thank the Show Low Unified School District, the Navajo County Sheriff’s Office, and the Arizona Department of Public Safety for their professionalism and assistance as we responded to this matter.”

We are happy to report as the school district has, “this incident did not pose any actual threat, and all students and staff members were accounted for and remained safe throughout the process,” as a student initiated this lockdown as a prank, ” continued the Show Low Police Department.
