
COALMINE, Ariz. — The FBI has released new details that could explain what may have happened to the 8-year-old Diné child, Maleeka “Molly” Boone.
According to the FBI, recent devolpments indictate that Maleeka “Molly” Boone was possibly struck by a vehicle on the eavening of January 15, 2026.
“Investigators believe it is possible that the driver of a larger vehicle, possibly a pickup truck, may have struck Boone without realizing it,” said the FBI.
Boone’s body was located in a field within the Coalmine neighborhood at approximately 8:30 a.m. on January 16, 2026.
Authorities are seeking information from anyone who may have information about vehicles that were traveling on Cedar Loop Road within the Coalmine Navajo Housing Authority between 5:50 p.m. and 6:20 p.m. on January 15, 2026,” the FBI said.
The FBI is offering a reward of up to $25,000 reward.
