Several people flee from semi truck off US-191 | Attempt to Locate

About 18 subjects including the driver bailed from a red semi-truck with no trailer upon being stopped by an Apache County Deputy on Milepost (MP) 339 and US-191.

On September 2, a red semi-truck was traveling eastbound on I-40 and failed to yield to passing vehicles. The semi was pursued by an Apache County Deputy at MP 335 and the semi exited at MP 339 and US-191. The semi then ran the stop sign north bound on US-191 and turned onto the westbound frontage road and came to a stop in front of the LDS church. “The LDS church is not involved in any way,” said the Apache County Sheriff’s Office.

The Deputy was not able to get the identification of any of the subjects but described them as Hispanic male and female. The red semi-truck with no trailer had New Mexico plates. It is unknown at this time if it was stolen,” said Jesse Robinson, Apache County Sheriff’s Office PIO.

The red semi-truck has been impounded as evidence at ACSO.

None of the subjects have been located and there is no evidence to say any of them are still in the area. There is no active search at this time. An Attempt to Locate (ATL) was put out to all agencies in the area for precautionary informational purposes only. None of the occupants have been identified or detained at this time according to ACSO.

ACSO continued, “There is no need for alarm, but please call if anyone sees something suspicious.”
